PTE Preparation

PTE is Pearson’s family of computer-based English tests. AFA lists PTE Academic and PTE Core as separate live courses. They are not interchangeable: PTE Academic is commonly used for academic and other recognised English-language purposes, while PTE Core is a general-English test used in Canadian immigration contexts.

AFA prepares you for the test format and language skills. Required scores are set by the organisation receiving them, so check the current requirement with the official source.

Both PTE Academic and PTE Core assess Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening on computer, with integrated tasks that can contribute to more than one skill. Pearson reports scores on a 10–90 scale.

The task mix differs between Academic and Core, so your preparation should match the exact test you are taking. Before booking, use Pearson’s current test-format page to check the latest task names and rules.

AFA’s PTE courses are live and instructor-led. Preparation combines task familiarity, language control, timed response practice, integrated skills and mock-test review through the learning portal.

The five-day free trial lets you select PTE as one of up to five courses and inspect lessons, the online-class area, mock tests and the learning portal before choosing a paid package. The portal is currently desktop-only.

You've already decided what you want the language or test to do for you. The useful decision now is narrower: the right version, level and study format.

Where a course shows Price on request, the figure is not final yet and we would rather say so than guess. Use the course page and five-day trial, then ask a counsellor before paying.
