GMAT Preparation

The GMAT is a graduate-management admissions test. The current exam has three sections: Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and Data Insights.

It is designed to measure reasoning with quantitative information, written arguments and data from several formats. Schools set their own score expectations, so AFA’s role is preparation, not admissions advice.

The current GMAT takes 2 hours and 15 minutes plus one optional 10-minute break. It contains 64 questions: 21 Quantitative Reasoning, 23 Verbal Reasoning and 20 Data Insights. Each section is 45 minutes.

The exam also includes a Question Review & Edit feature that allows limited answer changes within a section.

AFA offers GMAT as a live, instructor-led online course. Preparation combines content review, reasoning strategy, timed sections and mock-test analysis through the learning portal.

GMAT preparation works best when concept review and decision-making are trained together. In Quantitative Reasoning, that means recognising the underlying mathematical structure before calculating. In Verbal Reasoning, it means separating what a passage states from what can reasonably be inferred. In Data Insights, practise choosing which information matters, reading tables and graphics accurately, and managing multi-source material without rushing.

When reviewing practice, classify the mistake before moving on: missing concept, misread condition, weak inference, calculation error or poor time decision. That makes the next study session specific instead of simply repeating more questions.
