French Classes Online

French is taught at AFA as a language-learning pathway rather than one single exam course. The catalogue ranges from beginner study through A1 and A2 to B1, B2 and TEF-linked preparation.

The course names use CEFR levels. CEFR describes A1 and A2 as basic-user levels and B1 and B2 as independent-user levels. Those labels help you choose a starting point; they do not mean that buying a course guarantees a certificate or final level.

French language learning develops across listening, speaking, reading and writing, supported by grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. At A1, learners deal with very basic everyday expressions and personal information. A2 extends routine communication. B1 builds connected language on familiar matters. B2 moves into more detailed discussion and viewpoints.

TEF is a separate French-language test with several versions, so TEF-linked courses must be matched to the version you actually need.

All French courses in the current AFA catalogue are live and instructor-led. The learning portal supports the classes with lessons, study material and the trial experience.

Use the five-day free trial to see whether the starting level feels right. AFA has not supplied a formal placement-test rule, so if you are between levels, talk to a counsellor before paying.

You've already decided what you want the language or test to do for you. The useful decision now is narrower: the right version, level and study format.

Where a course shows Price on request, the figure is not final yet and we would rather say so than guess. Use the course page and five-day trial, then ask a counsellor before paying.
