GRE Preparation

The GRE General Test is used by many graduate, business and law schools. It measures Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning and Analytical Writing.

The current shorter GRE has been in place since September 2023. AFA’s course is therefore described around that format rather than older versions with two writing tasks and longer testing time.

The test takes about 1 hour 58 minutes. It begins with one 30-minute Analyze an Issue writing task, followed by two Verbal sections and two Quantitative sections. Verbal has 27 questions in total; Quantitative has 27 questions in total.

Verbal and Quantitative are section-level adaptive. Within a section, you can mark questions, move back and forth and change answers while time remains.

AFA’s Shorter GRE course is live and instructor-led. Preparation covers current Verbal, Quantitative and Analytical Writing content plus section-adaptive pacing and mock-test review.

A price for this course is still being confirmed, so the course page does not show one yet. Use the five-day trial first and inspect the course before paying.

A balanced GRE plan should alternate between concept work and timed sections. For Verbal, build vocabulary through context and practise identifying what a sentence or passage logically requires. For Quantitative, strengthen core arithmetic, algebra, geometry and data analysis before adding pace. For Analytical Writing, practise developing a clear position with reasons and examples rather than memorising a fixed essay.

Use official-style questions to learn the exam’s wording and section rhythm. Review slowly after timed work; understanding why an attractive wrong answer failed is often more useful than doing another set immediately.

You've already decided what you want the language or test to do for you. The useful decision now is narrower: the right version, level and study format.

Where a course shows Price on request, the figure is not final yet and we would rather say so than guess. Use the course page and five-day trial, then ask a counsellor before paying.
