What this exam is
AFA’s German catalogue covers beginner study through A1, A2 and B1. The course names use CEFR levels to show the intended progression.
CEFR describes A1 and A2 as basic-user levels and B1 as an independent-user level. The labels are useful for choosing where to start, but AFA does not claim that paying for a course guarantees a certificate or a particular final proficiency level.
How the exam is structured
German learning develops listening, speaking, reading and writing alongside grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. Beginner and A1 work focuses on basic exchanges and familiar needs. A2 extends routine communication and past/future reference. B1 develops connected language for familiar work, study, travel and personal topics.
AFA has not supplied a formal placement-test rule, fixed lesson counts or class timetables.
How AFA teaches it
All German courses in the current catalogue are live and instructor-led. Learners also use the learning portal for lessons, study material and trial access.
The five-day free trial is particularly useful if you are unsure between Basic/A1 and A2. Open the lessons, inspect the learning portal and ask a counsellor about the right starting point before you choose a paid package.
For language learning, regular use matters as much as explanation. Between live classes, revisit vocabulary in context, say sentences aloud and write short responses using the grammar you have just learned. At A1 and A2, repetition builds automatic everyday language; by B1, the emphasis shifts towards linking ideas and handling longer, less predictable exchanges.
Which course to choose
You've already decided what you want the language or test to do for you. The useful decision now is narrower: the right version, level and study format.
| Course | Format | Level | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| German Basic & A1 | Live | Beginner | ₹19,199 |
| German A2 | Live | Beginner | ₹20,799 |
| German Basic, A1 & A2 | Live | Beginner | ₹27,999 |
| German Basic to B1 | Live | Intermediate | ₹41,999 |
Where a course shows Price on request, the figure is not final yet and we would rather say so than guess. Use the course page and five-day trial, then ask a counsellor before paying.
