TEF Preparation

TEF is a French-language assessment offered in several versions, including TEF Canada, TEF Québec and TEF Études. The required components depend on the version and purpose.

AFA’s catalogue names its course TEF Champion without stating the version. That means the website should not claim one. Confirm the exact TEF version in the five-day trial or with a counsellor before you pay.

TEF versions can assess Reading, Listening, Writing, Speaking and, in some versions, vocabulary and syntax. For example, current TEF Canada immigration testing uses Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking, while TEF Études also includes Vocabulary and Syntax.

Because those differences matter, preparation should use only the instructions, timing and task mix for the TEF version you have confirmed.

AFA’s TEF Champion is a live, instructor-led online course. Preparation can cover French comprehension, written expression, oral interaction, language control and timed test practice without implying a guaranteed score.

The price for this course is not confirmed yet, so we have not published a number. Ask a counsellor for the current figure.

TEF preparation should begin with the exact version you intend to take, because the task mix is not identical across purposes. Once that is clear, combine general French development with timed task practice. Review comprehension errors for vocabulary and inference, and practise spoken and written responses for clarity, organisation and appropriate register rather than relying on memorised scripts.

If an institution or official application route gave you the requirement, keep the exact TEF version with you when you enquire. That lets you compare the course against the right components instead of assuming every TEF has the same paper pattern.

You've already decided what you want the language or test to do for you. The useful decision now is narrower: the right version, level and study format.

Where a course shows Price on request, the figure is not final yet and we would rather say so than guess. Use the course page and five-day trial, then ask a counsellor before paying.
