About this course
dMAT is Germany’s Digital Master Assessment Test. For the 2026 India process, the official dMAT information describes a Core Module plus a General Academic Module. The Core Module measures general cognitive and analytical skills through Figure Sequences, Mathematical Equations and Latin Squares.
AFA’s course is specifically named dMAT Core, so this page stays with those three public Core task types and the reasoning habits they require. The official materials also state that note-taking is not allowed during the exam. Because dMAT is new and details can change, check d-mat.de for the current cycle before registering.
This is a live, instructor-led course. You use the learning portal for lessons, study material and mock-test access alongside the live classes. AFA does not publish a fixed batch size, timetable or trainer profile in the verified brief.
What you’ll cover
Figure Sequences
Learn to track visual changes systematically rather than guessing from the overall appearance of a sequence.
- Position changes
- Rotation
- Colour or fill changes
- Rule combinations
Mathematical Equations
Practise solving compact systems in which letters represent numbers, choosing an efficient substitution order.
- Equation relationships
- Substitution
- Mental arithmetic
- Checking
Latin Squares
Use row and column constraints to determine missing symbols without completing more of the grid than necessary.
- Constraint scanning
- Elimination
- Forced placements
- Answer checking
Core reasoning habits
Build a consistent process for identifying a rule, testing it and moving on when a question is consuming too much time.
- Rule identification
- Accuracy
- Decision points
- Error review
No-notes practice
Train the task types without depending on rough work so your practice matches the official no-note rule.
- Mental tracking
- Visual organisation
- Short-term retention
- Checking routines
Timed mixed Core practice
Switch among the three Core task types and review where time is lost, not only where answers are wrong.
- Timed sets
- Task switching
- Speed versus accuracy
- Mock-test review
What’s included
Digital
- Live instructor-led classes
- Lessons and study material in the learning portal
- Mock tests where relevant to the course
- Handouts and downloadable study material
Physical
- Course-specific printed books or study material, posted to you where included in the selected package
Who it’s for
- Learners preparing specifically for the dMAT Core Module
- Applicants who have confirmed that dMAT applies to their current academic route
- People who want practice with visual, numerical and constraint-based reasoning
- Learners who want instructor-led online preparation
What you’ll be able to do
- Recognise the three published dMAT Core task families before test day
- Apply a repeatable method to visual sequences instead of guessing
- Solve compact equation systems with a cleaner substitution strategy
- Use Latin Square constraints and elimination under time without relying on notes
Price and durations
Price on request. We publish a number only once it is final, so this course does not show one yet. Ask a counsellor and you will get the exact price, package options and validity for your case — or start the five-day free trial first and decide after you have seen the course.
How the free trial works
Register on AFA’s learning portal and verify your email to start the five-day trial. You can choose up to five courses, including dMAT Core – Trial, and open the lessons, explore the live-class area, use the available study material and try the mock-test area. Trial access is limited; for example, only one mock test may be available. The learning portal is currently desktop-only.
FAQs
What is tested in dMAT Core?
The official dMAT materials list three Core subtests: Figure Sequences, Mathematical Equations and Latin Squares. The Core Module measures general study aptitude rather than knowledge from one degree subject.
Can I take notes in dMAT?
Current official dMAT preparation material states that note-taking is not allowed during the exam. Practising the Core task types without rough paper is therefore useful. Recheck the official instructions for your test cycle before test day.
Is this a live course?
Yes. The catalogue marks this course as Live, which means instructor-led live classes. Learning-portal access supports the course with lessons, study material and mock-test access. AFA has not published a fixed timetable or batch size in the verified brief.
What can I try before paying?
The five-day free trial lets you select up to five courses and explore lessons, the learning portal, online classes where relevant, mock tests and the training interface. Trial access is limited. Use it to check the course before choosing a paid package.
